Welcome!

Welcome to language tutoring, hosted in partnership between the Learning Strategies Center and the Language Resource Center. Here, you can get practice with peer tutors and learn how to focus your studying on the specific areas you want to work on. This semester, we offer peer tutoring for students enrolled in the following courses; but even if you don't see your course listed, stop by anyway!

Language Tutoring Schedule

Please check the language tutoring schedule to check when a tutor is available to help with your language classes.

Be sure to check the announcements section of this Canvas page for last minute changes and updates to the schedule.

Tutoring Appointments

Most of our tutoring is conducted on a drop-in basis: there's no need to sign up or make an appointment ahead of time, just stop by!

During certain times, you also have the option to book an in-person tutoring appointment in advance. Appointments are not mandatory -- you can still just drop by if you'd like. Booking an appointment does not guarentee you will have a one-on-one tutoring session for the full time; but the tutor will know to expect you, and they will make sure they set aside some time to work with you. To book an appointment, click on the booking links embedded in the scheudle.

Zoom Tutoring Sessions

Our tutoring sessions are typically held in person, but occasionally our tutors work over Zoom instead. If/when tutoring is being held on Zoom, there will be an announcement on this Canvas page and it will be noted on the tutoring schedule.

All online language tutoring uses the same Zoom meeting; each tutor occupies their own breakout room, which is labeled with the language they can help with. To meet with a tutor, simply log into the Zoom meeting, then use the menu in the Zoom app to navigate to the relevant breakout room. Depending which version of the Zoom app you're using, the breakout room options may be nested in the " . . . More" button near the bottom-right corner.
