VTPMD 6108 Applied Data Analysis Fall. 1 credit. Letter grades only. Enrollment is limited to MPH Students and Graduate Students by permission. Y. Li. The purpose of this course is to introduce students to the basics of Stata statistical programs. A combined lecture and lab format will be used where students work individually with a faculty member on real-world datasets. Topics covered will include the creation and manipulation of datasets, the importance of data cleaning, the Stata code, and command files to produce descriptive statistics. At the end of the course, the student will have an understanding of the Stata program environment and a basis upon which to build applied statistical skills in subsequent courses (VTPMD 6015, VTPMD6106).
